FOOTBALL OPPORTUNITY UPDATE:
Thank You to all those who e-mailed me with their interest in this. Unfortunately this project has currently been put on hold by Girlguiding and Julie Bentley (Chief Executive of Girlguiding) has issued the following statement:
“Unfortunately the exciting opportunity with the FA has been postponed, we hope that this opportunity may be available again in the future”.
I will keep all the names on file and get in touch if/when this does come about!
Girlguiding has been offered a fantastic opportunity from the national Women’s Football Association for Members of The Senior Section and Leaders to attend a free two day course at the English Football Association’s National Centre, the inspirational St Georges Park, in Burton-upon- Trent on the weekend of 4-5 March 2017 and to take home £500 of free football equipment and resource cards.
Following the training, Leaders will be encouraged to use their new knowledge and experiences to deliver football activities with local Brownies and Rainbows in our April 2017 National Girls’ Football Week.
All costs will be paid for by the FA and UEFA, including mileage or standard class public transport, accommodation and meals.
This opportunity is open to 16 Members of the Senior Section and / or Leaders (+1 reserve) aged 16+ from each Region.
Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Additional guidance has been provided by The FA Group: As we are always looking to be inclusive of and sensitive to girls and women from different ethnic backgrounds, faiths, ages, sexual orientations and with disabilities, we hope these places can be reflective of your communities.
I need to put 1 person forward (with others on a 'waiting list') to Anglia Region asap. If you would like to be considered please email Chris Skinner no later than 30th December – firstname.lastname@example.org
