Holiday Homes & Campsites

Situated on the bank of Saltcoats Creek in South Woodham Ferrers and near to the River Crouch our new HQ is the perfect place for a quiet Guiding holiday, yet within easy reach of many attractions.
We are several hundred yards from the road on a secure gated site with ample parking for leaders.

Just a short walk away is the town centre with a 24 hour Asda supermarket, a swimming pool and sports centre, including a climbing wall. Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park is approx. 20 mins walk and provides a day out with lots of activities available every day. Also Tropical Wings Butterfly & Animal Centre is 5 mins by car (approx. 40 mins to walk). There are also regular buses to Chelmsford (open air pool), and Maldon (promenade park and water park), also it is a 15 min walk to the railway station where you can get regular trains to London and Southend.

The building consists of 2 large halls; 1 smaller meeting room; a large bathroom with 4 toilets, wash basins and 2 showers; a disabled toilet/wet room, a men’s toilet and a well-equipped kitchen with a hatch through to the largest hall, electric range cooker, microwave and large fridge freezer. The number of girls accommodated indoors would be 18 plus leaders. If you require camp beds we do have some available to hire.

Outside we have a large grass area which can accommodate several tents, a wood store and an outside water tap. There are 5 concrete bases for patrol cooking and a central campfire base. Suggested numbers for camping would be 18/20 girls plus leaders.

We also have a parachute, a badminton net and rackets, large garden games and bats, balls and skipping ropes available for use.
