The Ongar Senior Section spent an evening with the local Round Table collecting for the local Elderly Christmas Gift Tokens.

We had invited Claire Baithun a Guide Leader from Loughton to come ane speak about the job she does working for an MP.
The girls had a talk about all aspects of Parliament learning about how women got the vote, the importance of exercising our right to vote. The role of an MP and about different women who have made a difference. They also did a quiz.
The balloons in the pack came in very handy for some impromptu relay races as we waited for our speaker who was delayed on the Central Line.
Fyfield Rainbows took part in Parliament week.
They learnt about the Prime Minister, The Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben, The Suffragettes and all about voting!
The girls had a colouring competition , played games and all took part in a secret ballot . They voted to have Red or Green Lollies next week! Red won, with 7 votes to 6.

The 2nd Buckhurst Hill Guides enjoyed spending their Jack Petchey Award money with an activity day at Thriftwood. We started with team building games which certainly broke any ice and made everyone think. Then followed kayaking, the cresta run and pedal karting.
Buckhurst Hill District held a sports evening for all Brownies and Guides. All the old favourite races were contested - sack race, egg and spoon, 3-legged and the final event was a hard fought tug-of-war. Everyone enjoyed a summer evening of fun.
First Great Chesterford Rainbows and Brownies have been fundraising for Children with Cancer. Over a term they completed the Mr Men and Little Miss Marathon Challenge. The girls completed 26 challenges including, running; an obstacle course; and creating fashion out of newspaper. We all had lots of fun completing these challenges and the girls are proud to announce that they raised £655.00 for Children with Cancer.
