It was one of the displays in the beautiful grounds of Kelvedon Hall at the Festival of Arts held there this month. The Rainbows had made the big flowers surrounding the teddy bears, the Brownies made the flower arrangements at the front and the Guides made kites, butterflies and picnic “food” for the bears. Hanging behind the bears is our piece of “original art”. A handprint Rainbow, with finger painted trees, flowers, sunshine and clouds painted by several of the girls. We all bought along our bears to join in!
During the event some of the Guides helped to run our Girlguiding stall . They were selling lavender bags that they had made, hand made seed bombs, lucky dip and “Guess the name of the Teddy Bear”. The Guiders helped to serve ploughman’s lunches and cream teas.
Several of the girls participated in dance and drama displays during the weekend as part of the “arts” theme. On the Sunday there was also a fun dog show. One of the leaders dogs won a “First” in the veteran category.
Funds raised during the event will be split beween St Francis Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease Association, St Nicholas church and for refurbishment of the Fane Hall where we hold our meetings.
