County Standard
Our County Standard comes in either metal or cloth.
You can currently purchase these from the County office.
Training Badge
When you have completed 5, 10, or 15 trainings, please send your card to the County Office.
Within each 5 trainings, you may use a maximum of 2 on-line sessions.
To obtain your 10 training badge you must have attended at least one Member’s Day.

Challenges
GGEW Chocolate Challenge
The Challenge is for your group to complete 5 activities; at least one from each section, but one of them must be travelling to buy some chocolate. The group must be prepared to do things they have not done before involving Chocolate and to have fun and help other people at the same time.
So have Chocofun!!!!

Topics include Drama, Craft, Food, Traditional games and some old songs. You, the leader decides how much to complete before awarding the badge. A certificate is included for those wishing to copy and distribute.

Holiday Homes & Campsites
The Pines Guide Site
The Avenue, Brentwood, Essex CM13 2AD. Please note this postcode takes you to the wrong side of The Avenue (i.e. just across the road from the campsite).
The Pines is a Guide camp site in the south of Brentwood, at the junction of The Avenue and Ingrave Road.
The site covers 1.5 acres of grass with mature trees. There is a central campfire area with wooden benches. Altar fireplaces and firewood are available on site. There is solid shelter consisting of a hut approx 8m x 5m with carpeted floor, tables and chairs. A separate small kitchen has a fridge, freezer, kettle, electric cooker, urn and a microwave and there are two flush toilets.
The site is available for unit meetings and for campfires.

Skreens Park Scout Activity Centre
Situated just outside Essex’s newest city, Chelmsford, Skreens Park Activity Centre is home to action-packed activities and experiences. Tolmers Scout Campsite
Run by Hertfordshire Scouts, it is conveniently located just north of the M25 in Cuffley.
With 3 residential buildings, you can choose one that fits your needs. The Norfolk Lodge and Pembrook are perfect for short or long stays with full shower and kitchen facilities. The Sleepover Centre is great as a base for an action-packed adventure. Most of our sites are suitable for groups of any size. With a range of locations, you can choose a site that fits the needs of your camp. The Bidwell
The Bidwell Guide & Scout Centre is set in a secluded forest location with the Little Ouse River running along its southern-western edge. The Centre is a purpose-built brick building and is situated within the Two Mile Bottom Scout Campsite.
Cudham Shaws
Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre has 92 acres of unspoilt countryside in the heart of Kent but only 16 miles from central London. One of the largest areas of chalk grassland and ancient woodlands in Greater London of which part has been designated a Site of Scientific Interest. You can even explore where Charles Darwin once studied for the “Origin of the Species”!
Chigwell Row
Chigwell Row is a delightful site set in the Essex countryside on the edge of Hainault Forest, but within easy reach of London. It has equipped and unequipped sites, all with solid shelter, and use of flush toilets, with hot showers available.
There are three houses – two for sleeping 25 each and one for 13. These are fully equipped but users will need to bring their own bedding and pillows.

Hautbois Activity Centre
Hautbois Activity Centre is an impressive 19th Century country house, set amidst 28 acres of beautiful countryside located on the edge of the Norfolk Broads with our own private cut onto the River Bure. Our centre is the perfect multi-purpose events venue, with expertise in delivering activity visits, relaxing residential breaks, motivational training and special occasions for groups of all ages.
We can provide accommodation in the house for 59 guests and a further 48 guests in the Reedcutters’ Village as well as camping facilities for over 300 people. Our friendly, experienced and highly-qualified staff are always on-hand to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
