Girlguiding Level 1 Climbing Scheme Training

Calling all leaders!
Do you have an interest in climbing, or want to take you group climbing, then why not become a qualified instructor!

This training will cover the syllabus laid down in the Girlguiding Climbing and Abseiling training scheme to the Level 1 standard.

It will also cover training to Supervisor level for Scout Activity Permits on Climbing Walls.

Successful completion of the course could lead to an assessment. The weekend will consist of both theory and practical sessions on our outdoor tower at Chigwell Row. Topics include climbing and abseiling techniques, instructing techniques, rope work and knots,
equipment maintenance, risk assessment and group management.
